BHN Puck Links: Bruins Marchand With Perfect New Year’s Resolution

The Boston Bruins had a wide range of New Year’s Resolutions when asked about them over the last couple of days.

Most involved self-improvement like Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy, who said he’s at an age where he’s watching his weight to make sure he remains in good health watching his young kids grow up. He’s got a lot of company in that regard as I shared with the B’s bench boss during Saturday morning’s zoom media session ahead of their matinee OT win over the Buffalo Sabres.

But Brad Marchand, unsurprisingly, had the perfect New Year’s resolution when several players participated in a video played on the jumbotron during Saturday’s matinee at TD Garden.

“I don’t have one…I’m perfect,” said Marchand.

With points in all but four games that he’s suited up for with the Black and Gold this season, Marchand can certainly make that case.

Happy New Year, everybody!

Now on to the BHN Puck Links:

*The Boston Bruins got plenty of welcome secondary scoring in Saturday’s win over the Sabres with Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno and Charlie Coyle all getting on the board in the OT divisional victory. (Boston Hockey Now)

*Kyle Okposo scores in his first game at UBS Arena as a member of the visiting Buffalo Sabres after his stint with the Isles. (NYI Hockey Now)

*The drought is over for McKenzie Weegar, and it helped the Panthers get a much-needed victory. (Florida Hockey Now)

*It’s a tough break for the Golden Knights as Max Pacioretty is lost indefinitely due to wrist surgery. (Vegas Hockey Now)

*Though it’s been a rough year for the Ottawa Senators, credit those covering them for coming up with the top-10 uplifting moments for the Sens this year. Great job by FOH (Friend of Haggs) Ian Mendes for coming up with these. (The Athletic)

*Pretty sweet company with the TNT crew mixing it up with the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar after he won the WWF title at Day 1 on Saturday night as well. Lesnar is a big time hockey fan that gets to his share of Winnipeg Jets games.

*Speaking of the TNT crew, fascinating discussion about mental health and NHL players with Paul Bissonnette on the Players Tribute podcast. (The Players Tribune)

*What a story with a Seattle Kraken fan spotting a skin cancer on the Vancouver Canucks equipment manager and letting him know about it during a game a few months ago. Her care for a total stranger ended up saving his life. (Seattle Times)

*For something completely different: How are Vin Diesel try and manipulate “The Rock” via social media into doing a sequel he said he wanted nothing to do with. (Page Six)
