Today’s stories include Columbus Sweep the Lightning, Islanders finish off the Penguins, Kyle Connor plays hero, Vegas continues to roll, Martin Jones struggles again, Kings hire Todd McLellan, and Andrei Svechnikov ruled out for Game 4.

Top Hockey News for Wednesday, April 17th

The Columbus Blue Jackets get franchise’s first playoff series win after sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round.

Another series ended Tuesday night as the New York Islanders knocked off the Penguins in four games.

The Winnipeg Jets tied the series with the Blues as Kyle Connor plays the overtime hero.

Vegas takes a commanding 3-1 series lead over San Jose thanks in large part to the play of Mark Stone, Max Pacorietty, and Paul Stastny.

The big story coming into the playoffs for the Sharks was the play of Martin Jones. Jones along with the rest of the Sharks have struggled against Vegas.

The Los Angeles Kings have settled on a new head coach by hiring Todd McLellan.

After fighting Alex Ovechkin in Game 3, Canes forward Andrei Svechnikov has been ruled out of Game 4 with a concussion.
