Good morning, my name is Andrew Fantucchio. It’s Friday, January 10, and here are the top stories, news items, and highlights surrounding the Boston Bruins and from across the NHL today.

Bruins News:

Sinking To A New Low: The Boston Bruins are falling and falling fast as a 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night at Amalie Arena stretched their recent skid to a season-long six games.

Bruins Won’t Forget ‘Cheap’ Cross Check on Kastelic: The taste of a sixth straight loss won’t disappear from the mouths of the Bruins quickly, and neither will the sight of Mark Kastelic wobbling on his skates disappear from their minds.

Game Grades: The Bruins played a solid 54 minutes last night, but a six-minute window in the second period was all it took to ruin everything. Check out the Bruins game grades.

Lamoriello Bursts Islanders Trade Bubble:

The New York Islanders sit in second to last place in the Eastern Conference. They have an aging core and are the league’s worst team on both the power play and penalty kill.

One would think that makes them obvious sellers at this year’s NHL trade deadline, but not Lou Lamoriello.

The Islanders’ general manager still has confidence in his team and says he is not interested in trading away pending free agent and one of the NHL’s top trade targets, Brock Nelson.

“First of all, it’s not even a thought in my mind right now,” Lamoriello told Newsday’s Andrew Gross. “Where we are in the season and where we are in the standings, where everything is in reach, that’s the focus. The focus is on who we are here right now and not hypothetically, if this, if that. I’m just not from that school.”

Yesterday’s Scoreboard:

More From National Hockey Now:

Florida: A former Bruins player is now shining for the arch-rival Florida Panthers.

Montreal: Montreal Canadiens forward Jake Evans is drawing plenty of interest on the NHL trade market.

New Jersey: According to a leading NHL insider, the New Jersey Devils are one of several teams to have rumored interest in Evans.

San Jose: The rebuilding San Jose Sharks need any advantage that they can get. So, how do they use analytics to their benefit? (+)

Boston needs to blow it all up, rebuild, without Sweeney and Neely they’ve ruined this franchise for years to come.A good ahl team would beat the bruins right now.
