Bost0n Bruins Notes

-This will be the second time in just under two weeks that the Bruins and Blackhawks meet after the Bruins won their season opener 3-1 over the Blackhawks on Oct. 11. Unless the two teams meet in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, they will not play again this season.

-Jeremy Swayman will be back between the pipes tonight. Swayman is 2-0-0 with a 2.02 GAA and a .943 save percentage. Swayman has turned away 66 of 70 shots faced so far this season.

David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in goals (5), is tied with Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, and Charlie McAvoy for the team lead in assists (3), and leads the team in points with eight in five games. Sunday night was the first game in which Pastrnak didn’t register a point.

-After leaving the pre-game warmups after one lap and not playing on Sunday night in Anaheim, veteran winger Milan Lucic will miss another game tonight. Patrick Brown will take his spot in the lineup once again tonight.

-The Boston Bruins are 21-for-22 on the penalty kill through five games and 3-for-18 on the powerplay.

-Finally, it’s early yet, but after a two-goal performance in the 3-1 win over the Ducks on Sunday night, rookie Matt Poitras is drawing comparisons to the recently retired Patrice Bergeron.

Chicago Blackhawks Notes

-2023 first overall pick Connor Bedard made the Bruins and goalie Linus Ullmark a footnote in NHL history as he scored his first NHL goal against the Bruins on Oct. 11. The 18-year-old center now has two goals and two assists in six NHL games.

-Veteran winger Corey Perry (2g, 3a) leads the team with five points. Tyler Johnson leads in goals with three lamplighters. Perry, Andreas Athanasiou, and defenseman Seth Jones are tied for the team lead in assists with three helpers each.

-Former Boston Bruins winger Taylor Hall was placed on injured reserve on Monday thanks to the shoulder injury he suffered from an open-ice hit by Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo on Oct. 11.

-Petr Mrazek will get the nod in net for the Chicago Blackhawks. Mrazek is 1-2-0 with a 3.03 GAA and a .924 save percentage.
