Puck Links: Anything Better Than Baby Yoda In The Stanley Cup?

Published

on

The NHL does plenty of things right when it comes to the Stanley Cup.

Setting up a photo shoot where Grogu, otherwise known as Baby Yoda in the Mandalorian series on Disney+, is sitting comfortably in the Stanley Cup is exactly what the doctor ordered ahead of the holiday season. After all, Baby Yoda is going to be a hot seller for Christmas presents and the Stanley Cup is the ultimate classic gift for any hockey player that aspires to greatness.

So, putting Baby Yoda, or Grogu, inside the Cup as so many NHL players do with their own children when they have their day with the Cup after winning, was a no-brainer. Now we just need to keep watching the Star Wars series and find out exactly what they have in store for cute little Baby Yoda in the future for a streaming series that’s still got a lot of legs.

Now, on to the links:

*Where is the love for Patrice Bergeron in this ranking of the top centers around the NHL? I mean, there’s like 11 names on that list and No. 37 is nowhere to be found like he was on the NHL Network’s top centers list.

*Could the Seattle Kraken be a potential landing spot for Patrik Laine when the Winnipeg Jets eventually deal the scorer? It’s an interesting question. (Sportsnet)

*Who wants to play some mountain hockey? This is pretty amazing.

*Good for Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel, who is inspiring patients at a Buffalo cancer center with his charcoal mural at the hospital. Eichel has been a constant supporter of the facility, and others like it, during his time in Buffalo. (NHL.com)

*A great conversation about hockey and diversity with Anson Carter and Darnell Nurse on his regular Hockey Culture podcast.

*This week marked the anniversary of Joe Thornton getting traded from the Bruins to the Sharks, so here’s an oral history of it from FOH (Friend of Haggs) Sheng Peng including some thoughts from former Bruins winger Marco Sturm. (San Jose Hockey Now)

*FOH Meghan Duggan is showing off her new reverse retro Bruins jersey that went on sale today. Pretty cool sweater.

*For something completely different: Speaking of the Mandalorian, here’s some pretty cool stuff from an interview with Bo-Katan herself, Katee Sackhoff. (Rotten Tomatoes)
