Are The Avalanche The Best Fit If Bruins Trade Rask? | BHN+

Are the Bruins about to pull a 180 on Tuukka Rask and make what would be a historic Bruins trade?

If so, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney should definitely start talking to Colorado Avalanche General Manager Joe Sakic. Rask would have to waive his modified no-trade clause but he just might do so to go to another Stanley Cup contending team.

In his latest ‘TSN Trade Bait’ column, Frank Seravalli grouped teams into trade buckets, ranking them by the amount of cap space they have for the offseason, which has actually already begun! Maybe it’s reading into it too much but did Seravalli’s takes on the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche not have the potential for a trade fit?

Here’s what Seravalli had to say about the Avalanche in his list of all 31 NHL teams listed into buckets relative to their salary cap space. The Av’s by the way, with over $20 million in cap space were in the ‘Easy Livin’ bucket:

“Life is good when you’ve got all-world Nathan MacKinnon locked up for three more years at $6.3 million. GM Joe Sakic has a blank canvas and more than $20 million in space to spend, starting with a starting netminder.”

Then, hey guess what the Boston Bruins – in the ‘Comfortable Middle’ bucket- might have to offer you Joe?
