BHN Daily Links: Don Waddell Not Going Anywhere, Blue Jackets Close to Signing Werenski
As the first full week August winds down, the Minnesota Wild continue to search for their new general manager after Paul Fenton was fired on July 30th. With the season drawing closer, the Wild have to make a decision quickly. One of the candidates in consideration for the position is current Carolina Hurricanes General Manager Don Wadell. However, it appears Wadell is out of the running according to his owner. More on that in a second. Here is the news for Friday, August 9th.
Even though Hurricanes GM Don Waddell is still without a contract, that doesnt concern owner Tom Dundon as he believes Wadell is not going anywhere and is still employed by the team. (NHL.com)

One of the top RFA defenseman still unsigned is Zach Werenski of the Columbus Blues Jackets. The Blue Jackets believe they can get a deal done with Werenski before the start of training camp. (The Athletic)
Jesse Puljujarvi still wants to play in the NHL next season, but he he does not want to play for the Edmonton Oilers. Puljujarvi’s told Finland’s MTV Sports its not about the money and that his client will play in Europe if he is not traded. (TSN)
