Late Tuesday, the NHL Department Of Player Safety suspended Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy for one game and that means the Bruins biggest minutes eater (24:06 TOI/GP) will miss Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night in Boston (8 PM ET; NBC). Per the NDPS, McAvoy – who has a goal and five assists in 13 games during the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs – was suspended for for an illegal check to the head of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson at 19:40 of the second period in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Second Round series that the Bruins closed out with a 3-0 win in Columbus Monday night.
