Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins (10-6-0, 20 pts) welcome the New York Rangers (12-4-3, 27 pts) to TD Garden for the annual Thanksgiving Showdown on Black Friday. Puck drop is set for 1:08 PM and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN+ and ABC.

The Bruins are coming off a 5-1 thrashing of the Buffalo Sabres on Thanksgiving Eve in Buffalo and the Rangers come into Boston riding a two-game win streak after beating their arch-rivals, the New York Islanders 4-2 on Wednesday.

Boston Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman is slotted in as the starter for the B’s but as of Thursday night, it was not known whether Igor Shesterkin or Alexandar Georgiev will get the nod for the Blueshirts.

*UPDATE*

Shesterkin starting.

Betting, Prediction: The Bruins come into this Original 6 tilt as the favorite at -150 on the money line and +150 on the puck line (-1.5). However, the play here is the over/under at 6. If Shesterkin plays, then take the under (-120), and if Georgiev plays, take the over (Even).

*UPDATE*

Take the Under which you can still find at 6 in some places but going to 5.5 fast.

Boston Bruins Notes

-Boston Bruins center Charlie Coyle is starting to lay his claim on the second line center slot. Coyle had a goal and an assist in the win over the Sabres and now has three goals and two assists in his last four games.

– Boston Bruins defenseman Mike Reilly has been solid since returning to the lineup on Nov. 20 after being a healthy scratch the previous two games. On Wednesday, Reilly had his best game of the season scoring his second goal of the season and logging 21:20 TOI while playing with Brandon Carlo on the second pairing.

-Trent Frederic (upper body) returned to Boston Bruins practice on Tuesday after being out since Nov. 9. His status for today’s game

New York Rangers Notes

-Reigning Norris Trophy winner Adam Fox is tied with Artemi Panarin for the team lead in assists with 15 helpers and in points with 19.

– Massachusetts natives Chris Kreider (Boxford, MA) and Kevin Rooney (Canton, MA) are coming home after they both lit the lamp twice in the win over the Islanders Wednesday. Rooney now has five goals in 19 games this season and Kreider is leading the team in scoring with 15 lamplighters.

-Shesterkin is 10-3-2 with a 2.24 GAA and a .932 save percentage. Georgiev is 2-1-1 with a 4.08 GAA and a .858 save percentage.
