The Bruins and Flyers prepare for the return of the NHL

The NHL and NHLPA officially ratified the ‘Return to Play’ plan and CBA extension on Friday night, paving the way for summer hockey starting August 1st. The Boston Bruins will kick off their summer slate on August 2nd when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers in Toronto.

A lot will happen between now and then, including the start of Phase 3. Phase 3 of the NHL’s ‘Return to Play’ plan is the opening of training camp. That starts on Monday, July 13th. The Bruins will hold camp at their practice facility, Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton.

Numerous players, including captain Zdeno Chara and star forwards Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak have been skating at Warrior as part of Phase 2.

The Bruins will be at Warrior Ice Arena for roughly two weeks. 13 days after camp opens, on July 26th, the Bruins will head to the Eastern Conference hub city of Toronto, Ontario. There, the Bruins will be one of five teams staying at the luxurious Hotel X.

Once in Toronto, the Bruins will participate in one exhibition game prior to the round-robin for seeding against the Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals. Those games will take place between July 28th and July 30 in the hub cities. The Western Conference will be in Edmonton, Alberta.
