NHL Training Camps are back in earnest and with that, the news cycle is picking up as well. Here’s some Boston Bruins news and some links from around the league:

The Minnesota Wild signed defenseman Jared Spurgeon to a seven-year contract extension worth $53.025 million. The new deal will carry an annual cap hit of $7.575. (The Athletic)

After signing a $65.358 million contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs, forward Mitch Marner is happy to be back to playing hockey. (TSN)

Washington Capitals forward Evgeni Kuznetsov has been suspended three games by the NHL for inappropriate conduct. This stemmed from a four-year ban on Kuznetsov by the IIHF after the Russian tested positive for cocaine use back in May at the World Championships. (NHL.com)

One man that has put drug use behind him and travels the country now to offer help in fighting addiction is former Bruin and two-time Stanley Cup champion Kevin Stevens. A documentary on Stevens’ addiction battle was screened recently and got raving reviews. (Bill Brett)
