Happy Friday Everyone!! As the calendar flips to march the push to the playoffs is on. Here is the top hockey news of the day for March 1st. Top stories include Guy Boucher fired, Islanders fans let Tavares hear it, Islanders demolish the Maple Leafs, Jesse Puljujavri season ending surgery, Taylor Hall’s knee surgery, Bruins overwhelm the Lightning, and Brad Richardson’s big night.

Top Hockey News for Friday, March 1st

The day has finally come as the Senators fired head coach Guy Boucher replacing him with Marc Crawford.

As John Tavares returned to Long Island, fans let him know what they thought of his decision.

Staying with the game for a moment the Islanders demolished the Maple Leafs.

Things have gone from bad to worse as Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi will having season ending hip surgery.

Speaking of having surgery, Devils forward Taylor Hall had successful knee surgery. His status is still unknown for the rest of the season.

Two of the best in the East squared off as the Bruins get a statement win over Tampa Bay.

Brad Richardson’s breakout season continues as he records four goals in a win over Vancouver.
