New Class of Competition: Never mind long-standing rivalries with the Maple Leafs, Lightning, and Panthers. The Bruins should be more concerned with a new class of competition this season. It’s not an elite one, but they aren’t exactly an elite team themselves.
Bruins Trade Talk: It’s the quiet time of the offseason, but there are slight rumblings that the Bruins are seeing what they could get on the NHL trade market in deals for Fabian Lysell, as well as Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt.

Matthew Tkachuk To Miss Start of Season: Matthew Tkachuk will miss the start of the season for the Florida Panthers after undergoing to address multiple injuries that kept him off the ice throughout portions of last year. He’s expected to be out until January.
Trent Frederic Committed to Oilers: Trent Frederic may have only been with the Edmonton Oilers for a few months following a trade from the Bruins, but that’s all he needed to know he wanted to commit to them for the next eight years.
Maple Leafs Discuss Marner’s Departure: To those on the outside, it seemed like a forgone conclusion that Mitch Marner was hitting the open market this summer. His former Toronto Maple Leafs teammates didn’t think so.
