Good morning, my name is Andrew Fantucchio. It’s Friday, January 31, and here are the top stories, news items, and highlights surrounding the Boston Bruins and from across the NHL today.

Boston Bruins:

Bruins Beat Themselves: The Boston Bruins fell to the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, but everyone who witnessed the game at TD Garden knows that the Bruins beat themselves.

NHL News & Trade Rumors:

Flyers/Flames Trade: The NHL trade market is open for business, with the Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames agreeing to a deal involving four players.

Taylor Hall was ‘Happy To Be Traded’: Taylor Hall was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Carolina Hurricanes in a shocking move, and he’s more than happy about it.

Devils Targeting Canucks Star: With so many teams interested, the hockey world is waiting to see where the Vancouver Canucks will send J.T. Miller ahead of the NHL trade deadline. However, the New Jersey Devils have their eyes on a different Canucks star.

Montreal Bids Farewell To Native Son: Playing in his last ever game in his last ever game in his hometown, Marc-André Fleury received the sendoff he deserved.

Utah Updates Options for Franchise Name: The idea of the Utah Wasatch was short-lived and bad to begin with. Will it be the Outlaws, the Mammoth, or will the Utah Hockey Club remain the team’s permanent name?

Yesterday’s Scoreboard:

Jets: 6, Bruins: 2

Senators: 5, Capitals: 4 (OT)

Lightning: 3, Kings: 0

Wild: 4, Canadiens: 0

Red Wings: 3, Oilers: 2 (SO)

Islanders: 3, Flyers: 0

Blue Jackets: 2, Golden Knights: 1 (OT)

Hurricanes: 3, Blackhawks: 2

Flames: 4, Ducks: 1

Kraken: 6, Sharks: 2

Today’s Schedule:

All Times EST

Nashville Predators vs. Buffalo Sabres, 7 p.m.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Dallas Stars, 8 p.m.

St. Louis Blues vs. Colorado Avalanche, 9 p.m.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Utah Hockey Club, 9 p.m.

More From National Hockey Now:

Detroit: If the Detroit Red Wings are going to make the playoffs, they’ll need to improve their league-worst penalty kill.

Pittsburgh: The Pittsburgh Penguins endured a strenuous seven-game road trip that lasted nearly two weeks and lived to tell the tale. (+)

NY Islanders: The New York Islanders may own the top trade chip on the market at this year’s deadline if they decide to sell. Oh, how much things have changed in two years.

Writers can keep putting stories out there about trades with the bruins, but I just don’t see it happening. I feel like Sweeney and Neely going to utilize what they have and make moves in the off season. I would prefer both of them gone. Then I listen to Sacco after games and it’s now become a broken record. I dont know if it has ever been done in the NHL during the season ,but pull the Captain C from Marchand and have a floating Captain game to game.

Bruins FO or players have no answers they are what they are a .500 hockey team … the 2 big off season FA signings were a disaster and now they are stuck with them .. going to be very hard to work their way out of this situation anytime soon

I think it’s time Jeremy comes out of his palatial estate and sits down with Junior and explains the facts of life in sports. the Neely and Sweeney love fest is over. They cannot be trusted to make another move in this organization it’s been building for years, irresponsible drafting no horrible drafting, terrible trades giving up number one draft picks for duds. Unless they fire those two loons in the front office Boycott!
