Bruins to Face Lightning at Raymond James Stadium in 2026
When the Boston Bruins visit Tampa Bay tomorrow night, it’ll be at the usual home of the Lightning, Amalie Arena. Next year, though, the two teams will meet on a much larger stage.
As announced on Wednesday, the Bruins and Lightning will feature in the NHL Stadium Series on February 1, 2026, at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It will be one of two outdoor games to take place in the Sunshine State next season, as the Florida Panthers will host the New York Rangers in the Winter Classic at loanDepot Park in Miami on Jan. 2, 2026.
“Stanley Cups, strings of sellouts and the exponential growth of youth and high school hockey throughout the state have demonstrated that Florida is a hockey hotbed,” NHL commissioner Garu Bettman said in an official statement. “Outdoor NHL games in the Sunshine State? Never let it be said that our League isn’t willing to accept a challenge.”
NHL set to make Florida the center of the hockey world with two 2025-26 marquee outdoor games to be played in the Sunshine State.

George Richards of Florida Hockey Now was the first to report that the Bruins were being considered to play in an outdoor game next season.
It will be the sixth time the Bruins will play outdoors, tying them with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers for the second-most in the league.
Overall, the Bruins are 4-1-0 in outdoor games, playing in settings such as Notre Dame Stadium, Gillette Stadium, Lake Tahoe, and Fenway Park twice.
“The Bruins organization takes pride in being selected to participate in one of the National Hockey League’s marquee events,” Bruins President Cam Neely said. “Similar to the NHL Winter Classics at Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, and Notre Dame Stadium and the NHL Outdoors Game in Lake Tahoe, the 2026 Stadium Series in Tampa will be a meaningful opportunity for our players and entire organization to showcase the game of hockey on a grand scale. All of us at the Bruins, as well as our passionate fanbase, are excited for what will be yet another incredible experience at Raymond James Stadium next February.”
Additional details for each of the two 2026 outdoor hockey events, including start times and ticketing information, will be announced at a later date when available.

They can’t score on ice so maybe playing in water should be a shutout for the bruins!
