I’m 1-0 overall so far this week after taking the Under 43.5 in the Broncos-Colts Thursday Night Football game but it’s time to talk NCAA football betting. last week I was 2-1 in college football as opposed to 0-1 in the NFL. Here’s my college football picks for Saturday October 8.

Texas (-315 ML, -8.5) @ Oklahoma

*Played at Cotton Bowl

Over/Under: 65.5

The Oklahoma Sooners (3-2) come into the 2022 Red River game reeling after falling out of the Top 25 with back-to-back losses. They were humiliated by T.C.U 55-24 last week and their defense has surrendered 89 points in their last two games. Meanwhile, the Texas Longhorns (3-2) have won one-loss one in their first 5 games. Will they follow the trend and lose Saturday? Not sure but they won’t cover the 14.5 points you can get if you tease the Sooners up.

Pick: Tease: Oklahoma +14.5, Over 59.5

No. 11 Utah (-165 ML, -3.5) @ No. 18 UCLA

Over/Under: 64

The Bruins treated me well last week as I took them on the money line +190 and they pulled off the upset with a 40-32 win over the previously undefeated Washington Huskies, who came in ranked higher than UCLA. Usually, you need to be careful taking the Bruins the week before they face their recent rival, the Oregon Ducks, but their playing a team that many experts had pegged to challenge for a NCAA playoff spot, so no worries about a letdown here. Maybe the experts underrated UCLA?

Pick: UCLA MONEY LINE (+140)

No. 16 BYU @ Notre Dame (-180 ML, 03.5)

Over/Under: 51.5

At first glance it may seem a bit odd that BYU (4-1) and ranked 16th overall in the country, are coming in as 3.5 points underdogs and +155 on the money line to Notre Dame (2-2)?

While I’ll admit that I am a huge fan of the Fighting Irish (go figure, a Murphy loving the Irish), I can also admit that my favorite college football team has burned me so many times when I bet. So this is coming from an objective point of view:

The oddsmakers are trying to lure you into taking the Cougars here but you need to be aware of current forum and not preseason or even two weeks ago forum. The Irish seem to finally be coming together and buying into new head coach Marcus Freeman’s system and mentality. The Cougars are coming off a loss and looked headed for that loss in it’s previous game. Don’t take the hook here and buy a half a point on Notre Dame.

Pick: Notre Dame -3
