Bruins Wrap: Road Warrior Bruins Head Home, NHL Trade Rumors

Published

on

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are headed home after a 5-1-0 road trip as the focus now switches to the March 21 NHL Trade Deadline.

Are the Vancouver Canucks also talking trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins?

Can the Montreal Canadiens rid themselves of Shea Weber’s contract?

That and more in the BHN Bruins Wrap:

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins closed out their six-game roadie out west with a 5-4 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday. The Bruins went 5-1-0 on the trip and now return home for a quick three-game homestand.

Are the Bruins and Vancouver Canucks looking to be trade partners before the NHL Trade Deadline?

National Hockey Now

Pittsburgh: The Pittsburgh Penguins are another team that’s talking trade with the Canucks ahead of the NHL Trade deadline.

Philly: BHN sends its prayers and good vibes to Philadelphia Flyers prospect Jackson Cates who was stretchered off the ice Saturday but thankfully is doing OK.

Detroit: Detroit Red Wings forward Filip Zadina is available on the NHL trade market.

Colorado: I respectfully disagree with Colorado Hockey Now scribe Ryan Boulding who claims that Alexander Ovechkin doesn’t hold influence over his native Russians and how they view the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Boulding is correct in saying that Ovechkin can’t stop the bombs from falling but he can prevent his fellow Russians fro falling victim to the Russian propaganda machine.

Canada Hockey Now

Montreal: Per Sportsnet NHL Insider, Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens are looking to move Shea Weber’s contract.

Calgary: The Calgary Flames got a bargain on the NHL trade market when they acquired Tyler Toffoli last month.

NHL

Per the lads on the 32 Thoughts segment of Hockey Night In Canada, teams wavering on whether or not they should trade their impending unrestricted free agents before the March 21 NHL trade deadline, will likely make those decisions this coming week. Does that mean a player like Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux gets dealt this week?

Longtime Toronto Sun columnist Steve Simmons has a source telling him that Chicago Blackhawks goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has told the Blackhawks he won’t waive his no-movement clause before the NHL Trade Deadline.

Hall of fame puck scribe Larry Brooks calls out Ovechkin’s unwavering support of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and all who still support Ovechkin despite him not calling out Putin.
