BHN Puck Links: Boston Bruins Marchand Chirping Carolina Hurricanes

Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand is officially engaged in some heated twitter trash talk with the Carolina Hurricanes.

It all started on Tuesday when Vincent Trocheck made a “rat” quip about Marchand ahead of that night’s game between the Bruins and Hurricanes at TD Garden. The Nose Face Killah responded with a trademark Marchand chirp that elevated the conversation to sports cars.

Predictably that wasn’t the end of it as the Hurricanes subtweeted Marchand on Wednesday after the Hurricanes doled out a 7-1 loss to the Black and Gold. And Marchand again stepped it up a notch about a Hurricanes team that hasn’t exactly been packing the house over the last couple of seasons in Raleigh/Durham.

It’s game, set and Marchand in my book, but then again, the Hurricanes are 2-0-0 and have outscored the Bruins by a 10-1 margin in the two games. And that’s really the only won-loss column that anybody cares about it in the NHL world.

Now on to the BHN Puck Links:

*Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy had a pretty succinct explanation for Tuesday night’s 7-1 loss to the Hurricanes: “We had nothing.” (Boston Hockey Now)

*It’s also again worth noting that Willie O’Ree is getting all of his deserved accolades and awards for his NHL trailblazing and a remarkable life well-lived in his 86 years.

*A look at the 2022 NHL Draft class courtesy of San Jose Hockey Now and McKeen’s Hockey with a focus on how the Sharks might take. (San Jose Hockey Now)

*Unfortunately, it looks like Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jakub Voracek is not going to play against his former Flyers mates on Thursday. (Philly Hockey Now)

*What do you think of Ville Heinola’s new tape job in Winnipeg? Interesting.

*Who will be the first woman to become an NHL general manager? There’s an impressive, growing list of potential candidates and it’s awesome to see Megan Duggan on this list. (Hockey News)

*Interesting piece from FOH (Friend of Haggs) Scott Burnside about the tit-for-tat with Leon Draisaitl and Jim Matheson during an Oilers zoom availability. I think we can all agree something like this wouldn’t have been a big deal before the dawn of the Zoom era. (Dailyfaceoff.com)

*Would you look at this beauty?

*For something completely different: Tom Holland is teasing more Spider-Man sequels after Spider Man: No Way Home. Thank goodness. (Comicbook.com)
