BHN Puck Links: Fenway Sports Group Buying Pittsburgh Penguins?

Published

on

Of all the NHL teams that might be up for sale, I wouldn’t have guessed that the Pittsburgh Penguins were about to change hands.

But per multiple reports, the Fenway Sports Group, AKA John Henry, are in talks to purchase the Penguins from Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle to add to their portfolio that includes the Red Sox, Liverpool FC. FOH (Friend of Haggs) Dan Kingerski has all the details here and it’s unclear what kind of synergy would be created between the Red Sox and Penguins with the Boston Bruins right in the ownership group’s backyard.

But it could make things very awkward for the Red Sox if/when the Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins meet in the Stanley Cup playoffs moving forward.

Now on to the BHN Puck Links:

*For something completely different: Miramax is suing Quentin Tarantino. Didn’t he basically make Miramax? (Variety)
