Boston Bruins

NHL trade chatter surrounding Jack Eichel heated up and cooled down this past weekend but the Boston Bruins weren’t and haven’t been part of that chatter for a while.

There’s been plenty of chatter about the slump Boston Bruins winger David Pastrnak is battling through but maybe everyone needs to look at the big picture when it comes to the affable Pastrnak.

Another sexual assault scandal is rocking the NHL and yet the league, the NHLPA and some media that cover the league still seem tone-deaf.

That and more in the latest Boston Hockey Now Puck Links:

While the Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary Flames, and Colorado Avalanche may be trying to outbid each other on Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel, the Boston Bruins are more concerned about finding a defenseman that can create some offense. (BHN)

Boston Bruins star winger David Pastrnak is still trying to find his groove but we all need to remember what he and his family went through this past summer. (BHN)

So apparently Globe and Mail Columnist Cathal Kelly is in the NHL’s pocket? What a disgraceful kiss-ass piece of journalism here regarding Gary Bettman’s handling of the Kyle Beach case. (Globe and Mail)

Speaking of that case, besides TSN investigative reporter Rick Westhead, who broke the story, IMHO, no one has discussed and covered it better than Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman have for Sportsnet. (32 Thoughts Podcast)

With 20 years of experience (SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, ESPNBoston, NESN, NHL.com, etc.) covering the Bruins, the NHL, NCAA and junior hockey and more, Jimmy Murphy’s hockey black book is full of Hall of Famers, current players, coaches, management, scouts and a wide array of hockey media personalities that have lived in and around this great game. For 17 of his 20 years as a hockey and sports reporter, Murph covered the Bruins on essentially a daily basis covering their victorious 2011 Stanley Cup run and their 2013 run to the Final as well. Murphy has hosted national and local radio shows and podcasts and also has experience in TV as well.

I think the bruins highest priority is a bona Fide no. 2 centre. Get that and the rest of the pieces should fall together.

Eichel is the solution for the Bruins to save what appears to be another losing season!
