BHN Puck Links: Bruins Halloween, Donald Fehr Failed, Eichel To Vegas?

Published

Boston Bruins

The last two games may have been spooky for the Boston Bruins but on Friday they brought plenty of Halloween joy to children at local hospitals.

Boston Bruins winger Taylor Hall missed an open net in a 2-0 loss for the Bruins to the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night but he buried one when discussing how badly the Chicago Blackhawks sex abuse scandal has been handled.

Could former Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel finally be on the run?

That and more in the latest BHN Puck Links:

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins had a better effort against the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday but were still shutout 3-0 for their second-straight loss. (BHN)

NESN Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards is pining to get on the road again but for now, he will be calling Bruins road games with Andy Brickley from the NESN studios in Watertown, MA. (BHN)

As far as Boston Bruins winger Taylor Hall is concerned, the tragic case of Kyle Beach and the Chicago Blackhawks will be repeated until the ‘Old Boys Club’ culture of the NHL is dealt with. (BHN)

The Boston Bruins nailed it again with their costumes for their annual – and for the second straight year, virtual – Halloween visit with kids in local hospitals.

Rightfully so, Joel Quenneville was forced to resign as head coach of the Florida Panthers for his failure to handle the Kyle Beach case like a true leader and man. (Florida Hockey Now)

So who will replace Quenneville as head coach of the Panthers? (Florida Hockey Now)

Is it me or is St. Louis Blues goalie the biggest brat in the NHL? Enough of his hissy fits! (Colorado Hockey Now)

FOBHN (Friend of Boston Hockey Now), and our main man in VAN, Rob Simpson sat down with Milton, MA native and Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Keith Yandle to talk Iron Man streak, Jimmy Hayes, and more. (Vancouver Hockey Now)

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Morgan Reilly to an eight-year, $60 million contract extension. (Toronto Hockey Now)

NHL

Not only did the Executive Director of the NHLPA, Donald Fehr, fail Kyle Beach but his failure to inform USA Hockey of what happened to Beach may have led to Brad Aldrich sexually assaulting someone else. He needs to step down immediately! (TSN)

It’s absolutely disgraceful that the NHL is letting Winnipeg Jets GM and former Blackhawks Assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff off the hook for his role in the Kyle Beach case. (NHL)

Are we supposed to somehow praise the Blackhawks for finally asking that Aldrich’s name be removed from the Stanley Cup? His name should’ve never been on there to begin with! (ESPN)

Too many people failed Kyle Beach and their half-ass apologies don’t help. (Sportsnet)

Could Jack Eichel be headed to Sin City? (Jeff Marek Show)

With 20 years of experience (SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, ESPNBoston, NESN, NHL.com, etc.) covering the Bruins, the NHL, NCAA and junior hockey and more, Jimmy Murphy’s hockey black book is full of Hall of Famers, current players, coaches, management, scouts and a wide array of hockey media personalities that have lived in and around this great game. For 17 of his 20 years as a hockey and sports reporter, Murph covered the Bruins on essentially a daily basis covering their victorious 2011 Stanley Cup run and their 2013 run to the Final as well. Murphy has hosted national and local radio shows and podcasts and also has experience in TV as well.

What a loss to hear Jack Eichel was lost by the B’s. A Boston local that wanted Boston and would fill the seats and the opposition goal.
