With each passing day it feels more and more like Boston Bruins rookie goaltender Jeremy Swayman is going to be around for a long time.

Sure, there’s the play on the ice where he’s won seven of his first nine starts, boasts a .946 save percentage and appears to have the footwork, athleticism, glove hand and instincts to be a standout NHL goaltender. But there’s also the fun-loving 22-year-old kid off the ice that’s brought energy, enthusiasm and plenty of personality to the mix while pushing his way into a goaltending picture with Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak.

Swayman the happy-go-lucky rookie was on display again this weekend when the NESN cameras caught him taking an animated selfie with a Bruins fan wearing a Swayman No. 1 jersey during pregame warm-ups on Saturday afternoon.

For a player that’s on the cusp of his first Stanley Cup playoff appearance as a backup goalie for the Boston Bruins, there is zero nerves or high anxiety during the final few games of the regular season.

Instead Swayman took time to create an unforgettable moment for a loyal fan and in doing so totally embrace being present for that tiny little moment during pregame warm-ups. There’s a lot to like about this rookie goaltender for the Bruins and he shows all the reasons why just about every time he takes the ice.

Now on to the BHN Puck Links:

*With NHL coaches getting their pink slips at the end of the regular season, there is some question as to whether David Quinn is in trouble with the New York Rangers. It could come down to the player exit interviews, according to Larry Brooks. (New York Post)

*In case you wanted to have a good cry, this emotional hug between Ryan Miller and his parents following his final NHL game might do the trick. A very touching moment with a goalie that put together a very strong NHL career.

*Is Jaroslav Halak done with the Boston Bruins after this season? It would certainly seem that way and Boston Hockey Now has a source telling us that is most definitely the case after the emergence of Swayman. (Boston Hockey Now)

*God bless Jake Voracek for giving this joker the water bottle treatment.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Sheng Peng is here to tell you why the San Jose Sharks shouldn’t trade Timo Meier right now. (San Jose Hockey Now)

*Speaking of coaching changes, John Tortorella and the Columbus Blue Jackets are parting ways after six seasons and with him as the winningest coach in the franchise history. (NHL on NBC Sports)

*For something completely different: Gwyneth Paltrow drank whiskey “every night” during COVID-19 lockdown. Join the club, Gwyn. (Page Six)
