Has Sweeney Finally Lured In His NHL Trade Deadline Marlin? | BHN+

In many ways for Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney, the NHL Trade Deadline, NHL Free Agency, and even the NHL Entry Draft have proven to be like Santiago trying to catch that elusive marlin in The Old Man and The Sea. Will the newly acquired Taylor Hall be the scoring winger Sweeney has coveted for David Krejci since becoming Bruins GM? Is he that marlin or just another carcass for Sweeney as he tries to help an aging core win their second Stanley Cup?

As he has after multiple top scoring wingers on both the NHL Trade market and in NHL Free Agency, Sweeney chased hard after Hall on the 2020 NHL Free Agency market. More than one source over the last year has confirmed to Boston Hockey Now that Sweeney also tried hard to acquire Hall before and into the 2019-20 regular season before Hall was ultimately dealt to the Arizona Coyotes on December 19, 2019.
