What Will It Take For The Capitals To Stop Enabling Tom Wilson? | BHN+

The Washington Capitals and more specifically head coach Peter Laviolette are picking the wrong hill to die on when it comes to Tom Wilson and in the process are condoning headshots in the NHL.

That was the case following Wilson’s latest dirty act that left Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo in a hospital under observation until Saturday morning and actually backfired on him and his teammates as a galvanized Bruins squad rolled to a 5-1 win.

“I saw the hit. His feet were on the ice, he stayed down with everything. Just looked like a hard hit in the corner,” Capitals head coach and Franklin, MA native Peter Laviolette said in his postgame Zoom with the media Friday night. “Not exactly sure what happened, but to me, it looked like just a hit.”

OK, so we’ll give ‘Lavvi’ a mulligan there under the assumption that maybe he really didn’t get to watch the various angles and video shots available before he addressed the media.
