As reported here on Nov. 23, a group of NHL owners was letting it be known to Bettman and Daly that they would prefer the 2020-21 season not be played because they would lose even more money on top of the millions they’ve been hemorrhaging since the Pandemic paused the NHL season back on March 12. According to hall of fame puck scribe, Larry Brooks, Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs and other NHL owners are not happy with their field generals, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Bill Daly, and blame them for the predicaments they now find themselves in. (New York Post)

Note: An email request to the Bruins for Jeremy Jacobs or a team representative to comment was not returned.

In his BHN Puck Links on Saturday, my partner in crime Joe Haggerty, challenged a column by Pittsburgh Tribune columnist and Pittsburgh radio personality Mark Madden. In the column, like the aforementioned group of owners led by Jeremy Jacobs, Madden suggested that the 2020-21 NHL season be scrapped. Haggs countered with a plethora of reasons against that theory. Toronto columnist Damian Cox echoed Madden’s sentiments but took it a step further saying that if the NHL cancels the season, it could lose or be forced to relocate two teams. If that means getting the Quebec Nordiques and Hartford Whalers back? Nah! Game On! (Toronto Star)

Why have youth and amateur hockey become labeled as ‘Super Spreaders’ and suddenly been put on hold again in so many states and provinces across North America? (Washington Post)

Speaking of ‘Super Spreaders’, we all know how ignorant and selfish those creating and attending anti-mask and COVID protests are. Now former Vancouver Canucks national anthem singer showed once again how too many of these misguided souls aren’t that bright either! (Vancouver Sun)

Will Tuukka Rask compete for the Vezina Trophy again if there’s an NHL season? The Vegas oddsmakers seem to think so! (OddsShark.com)

Fox 25 News may want to brush up on their hockey knowledge. If they paid attention to the Bruins over the last seven years, they could’ve been getting ‘Iggy’ with it on the side of the Mass Pike in the middle of a snowstorm! (Boston Hockey Now)

It appears Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk is already booking Stanley Cup parade dates for the next three years. (Ottawa Sun)

Would you pay a million bucks for a Wayne Gretzky rookie card? (Toronto Star)

For Murph’s Music Pick Of The Day, if you’re a huge Pogues fan like me or you haven’t even heard of them, as long as you love music and some great stories, I highly suggest the new Johnny Depp documentary on Shane MacGowan ‘Crock of Gold’. Pour a Guinness and thank me later!
