Boston Bruins David Pastrnak

The Boston Bruins will be without star forward David Pastrnak for Game 2 of their series against the Carolina Hurricanes. Pastrnak (unfit to participate) had a goal and an assist in the team’s 4-3 victory on Wednesday.

In place of David Pastrnak, Anders Bjork will skate on the top line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Karson Kuhlman draws into the lineup and will skate on the third line with Charlie Coyle and Nick Ritchie.

There was no reason given for Pastrnak’s absence other than the standard “unfit to participate” designation. However, Pastrnak appeared to be in some pain while celebrating Bergeron’s overtime winner on Wednesday afternoon.

Here is how the Bruins will line up tonight at forward. The defensive pairings remain the same from Game 1.

Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – Anders Bjork
Jake DeBrusk – David Krejci – Ondrej Kase
Nick Ritchie – Charlie Coyle – Karson Kuhlman
Joakim Nordstrom – Sean Kuraly – Chris Wagner

Tuukka Rask will start in goal for the Bruins for the second consecutive day.

The Carolina Hurricanes will get two veteran pieces back, meanwhile. Justin Williams and Sami Vatanen were both late scratches on Wednesday. Both return to the lineup tonight. James Reimer will replace Petr Mrazek as the starting goaltender for the Hurricanes. Trevor Van Riemsdyk will make his series debut for Rod Brind’Amour’s team.

Warren Foegele – Sebastian Aho – Teuvo Teravainen
Andrei Svechnikov – Vincent Trocheck – Martin Necas
Brock McGinn – Jordan Staal – Justin Williams
Nino Niederreiter – Morgan Geekie – Jordan Martinook

Jaccob Slavin – Dougie Hamilton
Brady Skjei – Sami Vatanen
Haydn Fleury – Trevor Van Riemsdyk
