Boston Bruins V Capitals

The NHL has officially announced the start times for Sunday’s round-robin and Qualification Round action. The Boston Bruins will finish their round-robin schedule against the Washington Capitals at 12:00 pm. The Bruins are 0-2-0 in the round-robin. They lost 4-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers last Sunday, and 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.

The game will air on NBCSN and NESN. It can also be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub in the Boston market.

With a victory, the Boston Bruins will finish as the third seed in the Eastern Conference. They would face the New York Islanders in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in that scenario. If they lose, the Bruins will finish as the fourth seed. In that scenario, the Bruins would face the Carolina Hurricanes in the First Round next week. The Bruins swept the Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final last spring.

There will only be two other games on the Sunday slate. The Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues will play for the third seed in the Western Conference at 3:00 pm in Edmonton. At 8:00 pm, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets will play Game 5 of their Qualification Round series.

The NHL will hold Phase 2 of the Draft Lottery on Monday night at 6:00 pm. The eight teams eliminated in the Qualification Round will have an equal 12.5% chance at the first overall pick. On Tuesday, the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin in both Toronto and Edmonton.
