Bruins Video: Cassidy Appreciates Coach Chara

The Boston Bruins honored captain Zdeno Chara prior to today’s game with the Arizona Coyotes for playing in his 1,000th game with the Bruins and 1,500th game overall earlier this season. Earlier today, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy talked about the value of having Chara as an on-ice coach and conduit to the players.

“As a coach on the ice, that part of it is great,” Cassidy replied when asked how much easier Chara makes the coaches’ jobs. “All the coaching staff have some experience playing the game, so it’s not like we’re neophytes or anything but we’re not in the trenches every day so having a guy out there that can pass on little details to guys, or live through and recognize their struggles, is a lot easier than coming from us.”
