Bruins Set To Reveal Third Jersey
In mere hours, there will be a new jersey in the Boston Bruins arsenal of uniforms. The club confirmed over the summer that there would be a new alternate jersey, but the uniform has yet to be revealed. That changes this afternoon. The club announced on Saturday that the new jersey will be revealed later today at a season ticket holder event.
The jersey ceremony will be at World Trade Center in the Seaport in Boston this afternoon at 2:00 pm and is an exclusive event for season ticket holders only. The expected third jersey leaked on the internet back in August. Roughly four months later, the uniform will officially join the Bruins family.

Icethetics writer Chris Smith claimed in August that it was doubtful it would be a prototype jersey. Why? As Smith points out, there would not be retail tagging on a prototype uniform. That lends credibility to the speculation that this is, in fact, the new third jersey of the Boston Bruins.
Smith didn’t believe these were fashion jerseys that are made by teams and sold, but never worn on the ice. The Bruins rarely produce that kind of uniform, and Smith thinks that it doesn’t fit with the Bruins mold. Lastly, Smith does not believe that the photo, posted here, has been manipulated in any way.
If this is in fact the Bruins new third jersey, it would be their second black-based third in a row. The Bruins previously wore a black third with the traditional logo on the shoulder, and the current shoulder patch as the main crest. That uniform was retired following the 2016-17 season.
Stay tuned for the official reveal later this afternoon!
