BHN Daily Links: Remembering Garnet ‘Ace’ Bailey; Will The RFA Market Free Up? Jack Hughes Opens Up

18 years ago today the world changed forever and the hockey world did not escape unscathed as they lost two of the good ones in Los Angeles Kings scouts Garnet “Ace” Bailey and Mark Bavis. We remember that today. Everybody’s thinking hockey now and Elliotte Friedman’s got 31 thoughts he wants you to know about. Finally, a convo with 2019 No. 1 pick and also who a look at who could be No. 1 next year.

Our own Jimmy Murphy wrote this ten years ago for NESN.com. Ironically, a day Murph will never forget for the same reasons so many of us won’t, was actually his first day on the Boston Bruins beat. Just as the hockey community did that day, Murph lost a friend in former Bruin and two-time Stanley Cup champion Garnet “Ace” Bailey. (NESN.com)

Great 1-on-1 with Mike Morreale and 2019 No.1 pick overall Jack Hughes (NHL.com)

We may be looking forward to a new NHL season but TSN Draft Analyst Craig Button is always looking forward to the NHL Draft. (TSN)

Miss you Ace!

With over 18 years of experience (SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, ESPNBoston, NESN, NHL.com, etc.) covering the Bruins, the NHL, NCAA and junior hockey and more, Jimmy Murphy’s hockey black book is full of Hall of Famers, current players, coaches, management, scouts and a wide array of hockey media personalities that have lived in and around this great game. For 15 of his 18 years as a hockey and sports reporter, Murph covered the Bruins on essentially a daily basis covering their victorious 2011 Stanley Cup run and their 2013 run to the Final as well. Murphy has hosted national and local radio shows and podcasts and also has experience in TV as well.
