LEAKED? Boston Bruins New Third Jersey Appears Online
The Boston Bruins will have a new third jersey for the 2019-20 NHL season. Like almost every other team around the league, however, that third jersey has yet to be released. Now that the calendar has turned to August, it would appear that a reveal is just a matter of weeks away. This past Friday though, Icethetics.com beat the Bruins to the punch
The top spot online for hockey jersey news and leaks, reported earlier that the Bruins will wear a black version of their 2019 Winter Classic jersey in 2019-20. A picture of the new uniform leaked out on Reddit on Friday night.
Looks like the #NHLBruins new third jersey is the latest to leak, featuring elements from last season’s #WinterClassic sweater. #NHL #JerseyWatch

Icethetics writer Chris Smith claims that it is doubtful this would be a prototype jersey. Why? As Smith points out, there would not be retail tagging on a prototype uniform. That lends credibility to the speculation that this is, in fact, the new third jersey of the Boston Bruins.
Smith didn’t believe these were fashion jerseys that are made by teams and sold, but never worn on the ice. The Bruins rarely produce that kind of uniform, and Smith thinks that it doesn’t fit with the Bruins mold. Lastly, Smith does not believe that the photo, posted here, has been manipulated in any way.
If this is in fact the Bruins new third jersey, it would be their second black-based third in a row. The Bruins previously wore a black third with the traditional logo on the shoulder, and the current shoulder patch as the main crest. That uniform was retired following the 2016-17 season.
