After 20 minutes of the play in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final The Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues are tied 0-0.
In a great moment during the pre-game introductions Bruins’ captain, Zdeno Chara, was given a huge ovation by the Boston faithful as he stood stoically on the blue line — mangled jaw and all. Chara started the game for Boston.
Chara was out there on the penalty kill and was active up and down the ice:
Boston outshot St. Louis 17 to 8 in the first period of Game 5 of the Cup Final and both teams went 0-1 on the power play.
Faceoffs could be an issue for the Bruins as they only won 25 percent of faceoff attempts in the first period.
Boston did come out hitting and kept that pressure on as they piled up 23 hits over the first 20 minutes of action.
