Bruins Raw Video: DeBrusk to Keep The ‘Tuukka’

Jake DeBrusk

For the last two games heading into Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final, Jake DeBrusk has been wearing a Boston Bruins winter aviator hat. Following his team’s 5-2 Game 1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, DeBrusk was sporting the same hat in his media scrum and one reporter suggested that the hat was called a “Tuukka”.

“A Tuukka?…ironic,” DeBrusk quipped.

DeBrusk assisted on Patrice Bergeron’s game-winner 2:54 into the third period and has helpers in three straight games now, so chances are he will be wearing it until he goes pointless again.

“I put this on two games ago and the guys were laughing,” he said. “So with that and we’ve been rolling, I’m going to keep wearing it.”

With 20 years of experience (SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, ESPNBoston, NESN,, etc.) covering the Bruins, the NHL, NCAA and junior hockey and more, Jimmy Murphy’s hockey black book is full of Hall of Famers, current players, coaches, management, scouts and a wide array of hockey media personalities that have lived in and around this great game. For 17 of his 20 years as a hockey and sports reporter, Murph covered the Bruins on essentially a daily basis covering their victorious 2011 Stanley Cup run and their 2013 run to the Final as well. Murphy has hosted national and local radio shows and podcasts and also has experience in TV as well.
