Halfway through another work week. Playoff right around the corner. Here is the top hockey news for Wednesday, April 3rd. Today’s stories include Hope for Women’s Hockey, Stars clinch playoff spot, Colorado inching closer, Montreal Stays Alive, Carolina wins in Toronto, Blue Jackets lose a tough one, and the Central Division Up in the Air.

Top Hockey News for Wednesday, April 3rd

The hockey world is still in shock over the CWHL folding. Hope could be on the way with the NWHL’s plans for expansion into Montreal and Toronto.

Even with announcement by the NWHL on Tuesday, there is still some uncertainty regarding the actual expansion plan.

The Dallas Stars are going back to the playoffs after defeating the Flyers Tuesday night.

The Colorado Avalanche are just one point away from making the playoffs after defeating Edmonton.

Montreal kept their playoff hopes alive with win over the Lightning.

Carolina is inching closer to a playoff spot after defeating the Maple Leafs.

Columbus’s playoff chances took a hit in a 6-2 loss to Boston.

It is a three way battle for first place as the Central Division crown is any team’s for the taking.
