Halfway through another work week. Teams are settling into their positions now. Here is the top hockey news for Wednesday, March 20th. Today’s stories include Carolina gets a huge two points, Montreal back in the hunt, Nashville shuts out Toronto, Dallas pick up a huge two points, St. Louis dominates Edmonton, Wild’s playoff chances sinking, Washington retakes the Metro lead, and Jimmy Howard re-signs with Detroit.

Top Hockey News for Wednesday, March 20th

The Hurricanes are inching closer to the playoffs after picking up a huge win over Pittsburgh.

The Montreal Canadiens are still alive in the playoff hunt, after defeating the Flyers.

For the first time in an NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs were shutout thanks in part to the Nashville Predators.

With less than 10 games left, Dallas inches closer to the playoffs after picking up a huge two points.

Vladimir Tarasenko returned to the lineup as the Blues dominate the Edmonton Oilers.

Colorado keeps playoff hopes alive as the Avalanche sink the playoff chances of the Wild.

Washington handles their business in win over New Jersey to regain Metro Division lead.

Jimmy Howard is staying in Detroit for one more season as he signs a new one year contract.
