Halfway through another work week. Here is the top hockey news of the day for Wednesday, March 6th. Today’s stories include Takeaways from the NHL GMs meetings, Avalanche get a much needed win, Columbus squeaks by New Jersey, Barry Trotz gets win number 800, Ryan Johansen does it again, Devan Dubnyk not a fan of the shootout, Welcome to show Filip Zadina, and Arizona’s winning streak is over.

Top Hockey News for Wednesday, March 6th

With the NHL GMs meetings now over, there could a be a new helmet rule in place next season.

Thanks to Nathan MacKinnon’s overtime winner, Colorado gets a much needed win.

With every game being so crucial, Columbus gets a big win over New Jersey.

As the Islanders climb bak into first place, Barry Trotz picked up his 800th career win as a coach.

For a second straight game, Ryan Johansen scores the winner in the shootout.

Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk says Ryan Johansen is making a “mockery” of the shootout.

The Red Wings always have a plan for their young players and, Filip Zadina is happy that Detroit drafted him.
