Patrice Bergeron’s 1000th NHL game was a blast from start to finish.

A warm entrance and puck drop with the New England Patriots, the Super Bowl champions.

A victory against the Islanders.

2 goals.

A cheering crowd.

All of that in Boston.

37 got through so much due to injuries. He is still there.

Leader.

Role model.

Inspiring.

He does what he loves the most in life.

The ability to be liked instantly.

Human. Empathetic. Approachable.

No enemies.

Fans are in awe. The NHL too.

Aware of his luck, his struggles and blessings.

When life is that much on your side, you can only say thank you.

Because hockey is just better since he is around.

For all the reasons stated above.

From all the fans in Quebec, your hometown, thank you for your presence, your simplicity, your leadership and the devotion to your family, your fans, no matter where you are.

Perfection does not exist, but as an NHL player profile, you are the closest thing to it.
